Being an Altrusan is not just about joining a club, it's about answering a call to serve. It is about showing up with a heart full of purpose, lifting others through service, and growing alongside strong, like-minded women who believe in making a difference.

Altrusa of Lexington provides multiple opportunities throughout the year to serve and a way to do it with others.
We engage in numerous community projects each year, providing our members with varied opportunities to build a better community.
Those service projects cost money; therefore, fundraising is a vital part of our club each year.

Our two top fundraising projects each year are:
  • Duck Derby, in conjunction with Lexington Kiwanis Club, each June.
  • Annual Yard Sale, held during the Fall.
In addition, we host “passive” fundraising events - meal fundraisers at local restaurants. We receive anywhere from 15% to 25% of total proceeds from those events.

We also continue to receive funding through promoting Mascot nut sales, Kroger Community Rewards, and donations from individual member consignment sales. Lastly, we have been fortunate to submit and receive financial Grants from the Altrusa International Foundation and local area non-profit organizations.
